Hilton golf resort and spa completed in 2009
Hilton international in partnership with a Turkish construction group will open their first Turkish resort hotel in Dalaman. The €100 million joint investment will comprise of a golf resort and spa and is planned to be completed by the middle of 2009. The 5 star resort will be located at the Sarigerme beach of Dalaman and will have 384 rooms, 52 of which will be suites. There will be a private beach, pontoon, 2000m2 health club, 18 hole golf course, 7 different bars & restaurants and a fully equipped business centre. The resort will be 8km from Dalaman airport.
Foreign property buyers in Turkey
Latest figures to end of July show 75,492 non-Turks own 64,629 properties in Turkey. Top of the list are Germans, followed by Brits with Austrians in third place. Most popular place for foreign owners is Antalya, followed by our own Muğla and then Istanbul.
New property developments in Turkey
According to a resent article in the Observer newspaper, some 17,000 Brits have chosen Turkey as their overseas country of choice. These 17,000 home owners have focused on the southern Turkish coastline which hugs the Mediterranean and Aegean seas. This area includes Fethiye, Calis, Bodrum and Gocek. The driving factors behind this influx is the value for money and quality of property available, the fantastic climate with long hot sunny days from April to November, and improved access with new flight operators servicing the area.
More direct flights from Scotland to Dalaman in 2009
Flyglobespan will be offering direct flights from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen to Dalaman in Turkey for Summer 2009. Each airport will operate a weekly flight, giving a total of three flights every week from Scotland. The routes will operate from April until October and prices start from £99.00 (one way including tax). Commenting on the new route Rick Green, flyglobespan CEO said, "We are delighted to be offering this new flight to the Turkish destination of Dalaman."

Turkey May Change Time Zones
Turkish Energy Ministry is busy preparing a case to put before the Cabinet to move Turkey’s time zone to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) +2.5 hours. |
